Navigating the Harbour

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Under some threatening black clouds the team from Coates Hire set sail on a Navigational Sailing Challenge. Each team of 5 sailed off towards Shark Island for the starting line aboard a flotilla of 36 foot Beneteaus. Each crew member with their own roll to play and a glint of victory in their eye got a chance to navigate, winch, tack and steer their way through the course.

There were a few moments of horizontal sailing which made for some crew very thankful of their waterproof jackets. All boats did their best to take line honours but it was crew of Sea Breeze that rounded Fort Denison first and had first dibs at the esky!

Maybe their next challenge should be our Rolex Sydney to Hobart Adventure

A Chopper to Lunch

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

20 members of Sky City Casino Adelaide’s favorite customers were seen headin’ down the highway in a convoy of Adelaide’s finest Harley Davidson beastie bikes.

The hogs heaved out from Sky City, down the coast and around the Adelaide Hills before chauffeuring them into Clarendon for lunch. Our Sky City guests had their photos taken with their new found biker friends before indulging in the mouth watering menu at the Old Clarendon Inn.

The general consensus was that the Harley ride was the highlight of the day and would be hard to top next month. But HD and Sky City are already planning and looking to HD’s City Sprint for their next amazing experience.

Matchbox Twenty VIP Event

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

“She says it’s cold outside and she hands me my raincoat…”Rob Thomas and the boys from Matchbox Twenty heated up the Entertainment Centre on Friday night, providing an excellent night for property developer Aaron Tippet and his guests (pictured).

“The chilled champagne and canapés in our suite certainly made us feel like VIP’s. Everyone was rapt at getting such exclusive seats for what was an amazing concert. I’m still singing 3am!”

Beach Challenge - Port Stephens

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Box Beach on NSW central coast played host to a casual afternoon of beach team building games hosted by Hidden Door. The international corporate group started the last afternoon of their conference with an enormous group photo taken over several shots from above by helicopter.

Then 6 teams of 80 people threw themselves at their first challenge to fill a large water tank using an assortment of sabotaged vessels. Managers, accountants even the marketing department threw themselves at the challenge, working as a relay between the waves and the tank. The green team were victorious.

The final challenge was a giant tug of war with each team allowed 125 metres of rope, the atmosphere was electric and for a few minutes it could have gone either way but finally a united team of yellow, green and navy blue pulled their opponents over the line.

A weary Hidden Door crew, relieved that the impending rain held off dinned on a well earned steak and several Coronas.
