Our Amazing Race Sydney was featured on Channel 7’s Sunrise in a feature of some of our most popular team building activities.
Based at the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, overlooking Sydney Harbour, we spoke with Sam Mac about a number of experiences including Graffiti, The Amazing Race, Board Breaking and Garden Party.
As Australia’s leading team building company, we loved the chance to showcase some experiences that will help build strong teams and develop a positive, happy culture as companies juggle working from home and returning to the office.
Why An Amazing Race Sydney?
Engaging employees in an Amazing Race team building activity can yield a myriad of benefits for companies, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This dynamic and interactive challenge, inspired by the popular reality TV show, offers a unique set of advantages that extend beyond the thrill of the competition.
First and foremost, the Amazing Race Sydney promotes effective communication and teamwork. Teams must work together to solve challenges, make decisions, and navigate through various tasks. This collaborative effort not only strengthens interpersonal relationships but also enhances the ability of team members to communicate and coordinate effectively in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment.
The activity also nurtures problem-solving skills among participants. Teams encounter diverse challenges that require creative thinking and strategic planning. This not only stimulates individual intellect but also encourages a collective approach to problem solving, fostering innovation within the team.
Furthermore, the Amazing Race Sydney promotes leadership development. Participants may discover and hone leadership skills as they take charge in different legs of the race. This not only identifies potential leaders within the organization but also provides an opportunity for existing leaders to refine their abilities in a dynamic and unfamiliar setting.
Employee engagement receives a substantial boost through the excitement and camaraderie generated by the Amazing Race. The shared experiences and memories created during the activity contribute to a positive workplace culture, improving overall job satisfaction and morale. This can lead to increased productivity and employee retention, as individuals feel a stronger connection to their colleagues and the company as a whole.
In conclusion, the Amazing Race Sydney team building activity is a powerful tool for companies seeking to enhance teamwork, problem-solving, leadership skills, and overall employee engagement. By providing a platform for collaboration and friendly competition, this activity contributes to a more cohesive and motivated workforce, ultimately benefiting the company’s performance and success.
The Amazing Race
The Amazing Race Sydney allows teams to manage time, delegate tasks but work towards one common goal. Better yet, it introduces a sense of play into the workplace.
We’ve crafted multiple different Amazing Race Sydney themes; each with multiple routes available.
Each race is designed to ensure that people of all ages and fitness levels can take part and be competitive, without having to be a super athlete.
Graffiti Art
Graffiti Art allows teams to deep dive into values and mission, with the goal of creating an artwork to capture the team interpretation. For this experience, we want to teams to explore their values, learn what those behaviours look like, and create an artwork that brings it to life.
What better way to connect people with values or mission than a custom designed artwork that hangs on your office wall?
Not in the office? Our Virtual Amazing Race allows teams working from home to take part in a fast-paced, fun and interactive Amazing Race from their own home.
Board Breaking
When faced with an overwhelmingly difficult task, it’s very easy to give up and thrown in the towel. In this group experience, teams are faced with the goal of learning martial arts techniques to hopefully break a piece of wood with a single kick.
Is it possible? Yes. Is it easy? No.
Teams work with a renowned martial artist; a Guinness World Record holder no less, to learn some self defence techniques before attempting the board break.
But first, we ask everyone to write a goal down on their piece of wood and commit to completing the goal. Visualisation, goal setting and working as one to achieve your objective.
Garden Party
Our custom garden parties allow teams to connect socially away from the office. We’ve hand picked some of Sydney’s most stunning venues, gardens and parks and combined food, drinks and fun into an afternoon that you’ll remember.
